The pics below are from one of my favourite mandalas...for the first time I experimented with continuing the mandala design around the sides of the canvas...kinda tricky but I love how it turned out! :) :)
Above - the first two layers of ink still wet, allowing the ink to run off over the sides then wiping around them with a dry cloth
Below - a layer of reds and sepia over dried masking fluid
Below - masking fluid removed (I always love that part!) Ready to start the mandala design :)

And voila, the finished piece!

I hope you like this mandala as much as I do! This was a great learning experience for me and I will definitely continue to use the sides in future paintings - so much more dynamic and interesting :)
